Rally To Force OT At Cal A Stepping Stone For Ducks

After enduring two weeks of coming to terms with, answering questions about and trying to move on from a one-sided loss to Washington, the UO football team will hit the practice field Monday feeling a bit better about itself.

There's no sugar-coating the Ducks' most recent result: Oregon lost 52-49 in double overtime Friday night at California, the team's fifth straight defeat. Not since 1996 has the program endured such a stretch.

That team rallied to win its final three in a row, and finished 6-5 while missing the postseason. The current iteration of Ducks believes it too can fight back into contention for a bowl berth, after taking some positives from Friday's dramatic comeback to force overtime against the Golden Bears.
