Oregon's Jake Hanson named to Rimington Award watch list

Oregon endured its worst record in a quarter-century last fall, but at least one media outlet believes the Ducks won't be down for long.

Athlon Sports included Oregon in its "very early" Top 25 ranking, which was released Monday morning, at No. 21.

New coach Willie Taggart inherits a promising core of young talent for his first season in Eugene. Although the Ducks are coming off their first losing record since 2004, a quick rebound should be in order. Quarterback Justin Herbert threw for 1,936 yards and 19 touchdowns as a true freshman last fall and is surrounded by a strong supporting cast that features running back Royce Freeman and receivers Darren Carrington and Charles Nelson.
