While it was delayed by a day, Freeman did make the Doak Walker Award Watch List. The reasoning is simplified by a changing of the guards so to speak. Long Time Associate Dave Williford retired at the beginning of the month and the paperwork was simply not turned in, until Friday. With Freeman meeting all the qualifications, he was added to the preseason list for Best Running Back.
Friday also saw the Oregon Football Senior added to the Walter Camp Award Watch List for Player of the Year. The latter is a no brainer.
