Linebacker Isaac Slade-Matuatia and Austin Faoliu made their respective announcements at the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii on Saturday night. The game featured two different teams – one was ‘Team Mariota’ – if that doesn’t speak volumes about another former Oregon Football Player – I’m not sure what does.
Isaac Slade-Matuatia has a tie to Mariota. They went to the same high school. He is listed as a 4-Star Prospect at Outside Linebacker according to 247Sports and was recruited by Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt. In shifting back to the 3-4 Defense Slade-Matuatia could easily see time on the field as a Freshman depending on the rotation.
