Oregon Baseball: Ducks Stumble in Opener vs Fresno State

The season was supposed to start on Friday night for the Oregon Ducks but was rained out. The game was rescheduled for a doubleheader on Sunday. Saturday saw the first game of the season. David Peterson took the mound for the Ducks. It was a rough start that lasted just four innings.

Peterson gave up five runs in the second before settling down. He gave up 8 hits and five runs. Fresno State pitcher Ricky Tyler Thomas threw six innings of two-hit ball for the Bulldogs. For the game, the Oregon Ducks had just four hits.

Daniel Patzlaff had the game highlight with a homerun in the fifth inning.
