Moore, Takeda Lead USA to Gold at Worlds

SURREY, Canada - Former Oregon pitcher Jessica Moore picked up the victory in a 7-3 championship game win over Japan and team USA clinched the WBSC Women's World Championship over the weekend.

Former Oregon outfielder Janie Takeda also played for team USA, helping the squad go a perfect 9-0 at the event, taking back the title from Japan for the first time since 2010. Japan had previously won in 2012 and 2014. As a team, the USA finished the world championship with a .436 team batting average, 19 home runs, 80 RBI and outscored opponents 83-10.
