Ducks kick off annual spring show and the search for the future of blur-fast football

Saturday morning at 11 the Ducks take the field for what’s become college football’s best fan experience west of the Rockies, easily the best attended spring scrimmage in the conference.

It promises to be a good show, a great first look at the new edition of a team that’s won 69 games in the decade but just nine last season, the fewest since 2007. Oregon fell to 3-3 at mid-season after an overtime loss at home to Washington State, responded with a six-game winning streak behind a brilliant stretch of play by graduate senior transfer quarterback Vernon Adams, then suffered a second half collapse at the Alamo Bowl when Adams was injured.
