Oregon Football Recruiting News: 3-Star 2016 TE Commit Out For Season With Torn ACL

Your Oregon football recruiting news update for September 13th:

One of the Oregon Ducks' in-state commits for the Class of 2016 has suffered a season-ending injury, ending his prep career prior to his move to Eugene early next year.

Per The Oregonian's Andrew Nemec, "Summit High School three-sport star and Oregon Ducks tight end commit Cam McCormick tore the ACL in his left knee during practice this week and is out for the season, he confirmed Friday afternoon via text message."

Standing at 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, McCormick burst into the Pac-12 spotlight with some impressive workout performances this offseason, garnering scholarship offers from a large cache of Pac-12 schools. However, he remains a hard commit to Oregon.

McCormick is currently ranked as the #2 tight end west of Texas, according to Rivals.com's current Class of 2016 rankings.
