Freshman Battery Keys Win For Ducks

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon used strong pitching and a four-run second inning to claim a 4-3 win over Stanford on Saturday at PK Park.

How It Happened: Freshman catcher Tim Susnara gave Oregon (27-19, 9-11 Pac-12) an early lead with a bases loaded, two-RBI double down the left field line in the second inning after three straight singles opened the frame. Mark Karaviotis and Jakob Goldfarb followed with sacrifice flies to stake the Ducks to a 4-0 lead.

Oregon starter David Peterson cruised through his first six innings, scattering just four hits, but scuffled in the seventh.
