ATHENS, Ga. – No. 53 nationally ranked Adam Moundir, a junior on the Old Dominion men's tennis team, fell in the First Round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament to the No. 2 seed and No. 6 nationally ranked Nuno Borges of Mississippi State by a 6-3, 7-5 score on Wednesday afternoon at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia.
Moundir (Luzern, Switzerland) became the first ODU male player to qualify for the NCAA Singles Tournament since 2009, when Alex Seleznev accomplished the feat.
“I'm very proud of Adams performance all year,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller.
