OSU Football: All-In, Literally, At Tailback

The premise of a running back-by-committee isn’t new. Teams have utilized the method plenty in the past, including the Cowboys a year ago when they failed to find a feature back.

This season, if the depth chart holds true, OSU may be going with a running back-by-crowd approach.

The depth chart at running back: Chris Carson, or, Rennie Childs, or, Barry J. Sanders, or, Justice Hill. And Gundy quickly pointed out that Jeff Carr should be on the list, too.

That’s five backs for one spot, either to be shared or seized.

“It’s going to be interesting to see who emerges out of that,” said offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.
