Healthy Stoner again stirring buzz with Cowboys

STILLWATER — Dillon Stoner first felt the pain in his right foot last summer, while pushing to make an impression on Oklahoma State's offensive coaches.

“But it wasn't that bad,” Stoner said.

So the former Jenks High School star kept pressing, bent on forcing his way into the Cowboys receiver rotation, even as a true freshman. And there he was in the season opener, grabbing two receptions in his collegiate debut. The versatile Stoner's role only expanded, too, highlighted by a turn at quarterback in the Wildcat formation late against Central Michigan, when he flipped a touchdown pass to James Washington that would have served as the game-winner if not for the madness that followed after time expired.
