Temperatures escalated above 90 degrees as a sweltering sun shone on Cowgirl Soccer Complex.

Although members of Oklahoma State’s soccer team had grown accustomed to overcast skies and mild heat during the preseason, the change in weather didn’t stop OSU from battling to a 2-0 victory against Loyola to start its regular season Friday.

Coach Colin Carmichael said he frequently made adjustments in the lineup because the Cowgirls became tired in the summer heat.

The same combination of starters that faced Missouri in Saturday’s exhibition match took the field against Loyola until four new players entered in the 27th minute.
