Brandon Weeden Recaps Veteran Minicamp, Could Compete for Starting Spot

Fresh off of an AFC divisional round appearance in 2016, the Houston Texans recently concluded their veteran minicamp in preparation for the upcoming season. Among the camp’s players was former Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden, who now enters his third season with the Texans.

“I have a lot of respect for Weed — he’s had a good spring,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. “He knows our system a lot better than I felt like he did last year. He’s made a lot of strides, and I really enjoy coaching him.”

Weeden, a seven-year NFL veteran, hasn’t taken a meaningful snap since playing in the final three games of the regular season in 2015.
