As the Cowboys headed into conference play a pretty cool story line took shape. First-year head coach Brad Underwood would get his 100th career win and his first Big 12 win simultaneously.
His first shot was against his former mentor Bob Huggins of West Virginia. The Cowboys would lose by 17 in their home opener.
