Stillwater Regional notebook: Cowboys turn to Jon Perrin in opener

One of the bigger questions surrounding Oklahoma State entering regional play: how would the Cowboys coaches align their pitching.

Josh Holliday essentially revealed the plan Thursday, at least for the first two games, naming senior right-hander Jon Perrin as Friday’s starter against St. John’s in OSU’s tournament opener.

Last week at the conference tournament, the Cowboys went with Conor Costello and Trey Cobb out of the bullpen to handle the first game, bringing Big 12 Pitcher of the Year Michael Freeman and Perrin — the staff’s two defined starters — to follow.
