In case you missed it, Oklahoma is one of 16 schools, including several elite college programs, that will participate in PK80, an invitational tournament honoring Nike co-founder Phil Knight.
The tournament will be held in Portland, Ore., during Thanksgiving week in 2017. The “80” in the PK80 tournament title is in reference to Knight’s 80th birthday, which will officially happen on Feb. 24, 2018. Knight is a longtime supporter and fan of college basketball. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.
In addition to the Sooners, teams invited to participate in PK80 represent a who’s-who in college basketball.
