The lone seven footer on the Oklahoma Sooners roster, Akolda Manyang, received an indefinite suspension from the Athletic Department after an altercation on Campus Corner early Sunday morning. (First reported by Kyle Phillips of the Norman Transcript.) Striking football player, Tyler Evans after several comments, Manyang has been charged with aggravated assault and battery.
The altercation left Evans with lacerations to the face as well as two missing teeth. Now, the charge carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison along with a $500 fine.
According to Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn, the incident occured when Manyang was harassing a group of ladies.
