LB Jordan Evans joins Joe Mixon in Cincinnati; drafted by Bengals in sixth round

Former Oklahoma LB Jordan Evans became the second former Sooner selected by the Cincinnati Bengals during the 2017 NFL Draft when he was selected with the ninth pick of the sixth round (193rd overall).

Evans finished with 281 total tackles, 21 for-loss and 3.5 sacks over his four-year OU career. He hauled in five interceptions, including four his senior year, two of which were returned for touchdowns.

Three thoughts

Joining Joe Mixon: Evans joins former Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon in Cincinnati after Mixon was selected in the second round. The Bengals received a lot of flack for drafting the embattled RB, but taking one of his teammates -- a former team captain with no disciplinary issues in college -- could take some of the heat off the organization and set Mixon up for success.
