Oklahoma Football Recruiting: Sooners Make Top Three For Pair Of Targets

The Oklahoma Sooners are in the midst of spring practice in preparation for the 2016 season, but that doesn't mean head coach Bob Stoops & Co. have taken a step back on the recruiting trail. Here are all the latest news and rumors surrounding Oklahoma recruiting:

3-star DT has Sooners in top three
Three-star defensive tackle Deiontae Watts (Plano, TX) recently revealed that his three favorite schools at the moment are Baylor, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. He doesn't have any spring visits lined up, but does like the Sooners because he's from Oklahoma and "grew up liking them."

The 6'3", 302-pounder is ranked as the No. 21 defensive tackle and No. 336 overall prospect in the country.

4-star CB high on OU
Four-star cornerback Verone McKinley III (Plano, TX) has Oklahoma in his top three, along with LSU and Texas A&M. McKinley highlighted what he liked the "family-type atmosphere" surrounding the Sooners, adding that they "want you to succeed everywhere - academically, spiritually, and as a man."

McKinley is ranked as the No. 10 cornerback and No. 98 overall prospect in the class of 2018.
