Last season, Oklahoma made waves with the addition of a pair of alternate uniforms.
The Sooners wore the “Bring the Wood” jerseys on the road at West Virginia and at home against Baylor.
Talk of new alternates got kicked up Sunday when a reporter from the Tidewater News in Frank lin, Va., tweeted that sources had told him that nine teams—including the Sooners—would wear black alternates this season.
The attached photo showed a t-shirt, not a jersey, with a black torso, crimson sleeves and “Sooners” in white above the numbers on the chest.
It didn’t take long for OU officials to shoot down the idea.
