Here Are The Top 7 Recruits Bob Stoops Is Targeting For Oklahoma's 2017 Class

The Oklahoma Sooners just put the finishing touches on a top 25 recruiting class in 2016. But the Sooners, head coach Bob Stoops and his staff have already turned their attention to the 2017 class.

While the Sooners might not end up with every player listed here, they'll targeting several high-profile recruits this year with the hope of landing them. A big tip of the hat to 247Sports, as their rankings were used to detail the recruits' overall and positional rankings. The players are listed in descending order of their overall rank. With that in mind, here are the top seven prospects Oklahoma is targeting in the 2017 recruiting class.

7. WR Tylan Wallace

The Sooners offered Wallace back in September, and they are the favorite to land him. He's the No. 139 overall player and a four-star prospect. Hailing from Texas, he's the No. 19 WR and No. 20 player from the state.

6. LB Levi Draper

Darper checks in as the No. 127 overall player and the No. 4 ILB in the 2017 class. He's the top player from Oklahoma and was previously committed to Oklahoma State. However, he decommitted from the Cowboys Dec. 3rd and commited to OU two days later.

5. OG Tyrese Robinson

Much like Draper, Robinson has already committed to OU. He pleged on Jan. 30th, giving the Sooners the No. 2 guard in the class of 2017. Robinson is the No. 85 overall player.

4. DT Haskell Garrett

The four-star DT is the No. 80 overall player and and the No. 3 player from Nevada. He's the No. 4 DT in the nation, with Texas A&M the current favorite. Oklahoma, USC and Notre Dame are among the other notable teams in the mix.

3. ILB Anthony Hines

Hines is the No. 74 overall player and the top-ranked ILB. While he's listed as a LB, Hines also plays RB and could contribute there. OU is the current favorite for Hines, with Baylor in second. For more on the Sooners' 2017 recruiting plans, download the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.

2. RB J.K. Dobbins

Dobbins is an RB, but has a chance to also contribute on returns. He's the No. 8 player from Texas and the No. 49 overall player in the 2017 class. While Texas is the current front-runner, Oklahoma is very much in the mix.

1. WR Tyjon Lindsey

Lindsey is a five-star WR and the No. 3 WR in the nation. He's the top-ranked player from Nevada and several top schools are pushing hard for him. The Sooners are in the mix, along with Oregon, Ohio State, Texas A&M and USC.
