Sooners RB Keith Ford Out 2-3 Weeks With Foot Injury

In today's Oklahoma football news and rumors update, Oklahoma Sooners running back and top ground weapon Keith Ford will be sidelined 2-3 weeks after injuring his foot.

According to John Taylor of NBC's College Football Talk, "during a Monday teleconference, head coach Bob Stoops revealed that running back Keith Ford is dealing with a foot injury. Specifically, Ford has a slight fracture in the foot."

With that timeline in place, Ford will definitely miss this weekend's contest against much-improved West Virginia. However, OU does have a bye for the weekend of September 27th, making it possible that Ford will miss just one game before the Sooners do battle with TCU on October 4th.

Furthermore, Ford should definitely be clear when Oklahoma renews their rivalry with Texas on October 11th.

Ford currently leads the Sooners with 197 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns, along with being their third leading receiver with 100 yards on six receptions (and one receiving TD).

With Ford out, the Sooners won't be without capable weapons at running back, as Samaje Perine (177 yards) and Alex Ross (132 yards) will see extended carries.
