Oklahoma vs. Tennessee Preview and Prediction

The Oklahoma Sooners have rolled through their first two games of the season, winning a combined 100-23 in that span.

Saturday will serve as a step up in competition with the Tennessee Volunteers coming to town, looking to pull off the upset in Norman.

Records:

Oklahoma: 2-0

Tennessee: 2-0

Last Meeting: Teams have not met since 1968

Key Stat: Oklahoma has given up just three first half points this season - outscoring opponents 62-3 before halftime.

Oklahoma Outlook: The Sooners have dismantled Louisiana Tech and Tulsa, but Tennessee presents a bit more of a challenge.

Trevor Knight and the Sooners offense has had no problem moving the ball this year, averaging 50 points and over 500 yards per game.

In those games, Knight has already compiled 552 yards passing and three scores.

Tennessee Outlook: The Volunteers head into this game with a perfect record on the line. They haven't played the stiffest competition either (Utah State and Arkansas State) but still look to be rolling on all cylinders.

The defensive side of the ball looks particularly strong, allowing just 13 points a game, while Justin Worley and the offense have produced at a steady pace.

What to watch for: There will be added attention on this game considering the SEC-Big 12 implications. Coach Bob Stoops has made it known he is unimpressed with the SEC, meaning his team needs to back it up on Saturday.

The Sooners solid defensive numbers could take a bit of a bump going against Worley and the Tennessee offense, but overall both defenses have enough talent to keep this game relatively low scoring compared to each of their last few games.

Prediction:

Oklahoma - 33, Tennessee - 20

The Sooners have plenty of talent to take care of business in this one, even if it means they won't win by 30+ points. Tennessee will have to play extra sharp to pull of the upset, something that may be too much to ask of the Volunteers.
