Oklahoma Football News: Sooners QB Trevor Knight's Neck Injury Termed As 'Transient Quadriplegia'

Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight has been diagnosed with what is being termed as "transient quadriplegia' after he sustained a neck injury during last Saturday's loss to the Baylor Bears.

The diagnosis was reported by both SoonerScoop.com and The Oklahoman on Friday.

From Rivals.com and NBC's College Football Talk:

SoonerScoop.com learned earlier this week Knight suffered transient quadriplegia during the play, a condition that causes a person to suffer burning pain sensations, numbness, tingling or a loss of sensation on both sides of their body.

Transient quadriplegia can also cause a person to suffer temporary paralysis in his arms, legs, or all limbs. Sources tell us Knight did suffer temporary paralysis following the hit by the Baylor defenders.

The difference between transient quadriplegia and a stinger is the difference between two sides of the body being affected and one.

Knight has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Redshirt freshman Cody Thomas will make his first career start in place of Knight.
