Oklahoma Football News: Bob Stoops, Sooners Excited For Benefits Of Playing At Tulsa

In this Oklahoma football news and rumors update, Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops is excited to bring his team back to Tulsa on Saturday for a litany of reasons.

“I don’t know about benefitting a program as much as it’s great for the state — for our people, for Tulsa hopefully,” Stoops said, via Ryan Aber of NewsOK.com. “You have a game that’s close so travel expenses for both teams … it just works. Again, I think it’s great for fans in this area.”

Not only is Stoops sold on the benefits of leading his team to Tulsa for an in-state showcase, Tulsa-area natives such as starting linebacker Dominique Alexander are ecstatic to be playing in front of family and friends at H.A. Chapman Stadium.

“First time playing there, first time playing in Tulsa as a collegiate athlete so it’s going to be fun just being able to play in front of my family — some of the people that aren’t able to come watch me play when I’m in Norman,” Alexander said.

“So I’m going to have a big fan section there.”
