LAS VEGAS — For 10 days, Victor Oladipo assumed he'd be teammates with Kevin Durant. During those, the D.C. natives exchanged text messages about their excitement for next season. Durant told Oladipo he'd love it in OKC. Oladipo had visions of NBA titles — multiple — sending ring emojis to his friends and family.
“If I get the opportunity to play with him, it'd be phenomenal,” he said on July 2. “I feel like we could do something special.”
But things changed on July 4 when Durant bolted to Golden State.
“I heard it like everyone else, through the grapevine,” Oladipo said.
