SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Steven Adams was in the locker room. DeMarcus Cousins was on the court.
There have been better circumstances for the Thunder.
But with Adams, its defensive anchor, being evaluated for a concussion, Oklahoma City turned to offensive specialist Enes Kanter to contend with the Kings’ Cousins, perhaps the league’s most skilled center.
And it turned out fine.
In the Thunder’s 122-118 win at Golden 1 Center on Sunday, Kanter held his own defensively and scored a season-high 29 points, backing up Russell Westbrook’s triple-double in a significant road win.
