For four straight mid-second quarter possessions on Monday night, San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich cleared the left side of the floor and isolated LaMarcus Aldridge in the post.
The first — with 5:18 before halftime — was against Steven Adams. Aldridge backed up the monster New Zealander with a power dribble to the chest, then turned back over his right shoulder and dropped in a fadeaway, despite Adams contesting the shot about as well as possible.
The next time down, Serge Ibaka took his turn. Aldridge opted for power over finesse, bulldozing through Ibaka with three dribbles and dropping in a right hook from about four feet away, shedding contact.
