Ohio State football | Elflein wins Rimington Trophy as best center

Earlier this year, Pat Elflein couldn’t lift anything heavier than a quart of milk.

Today in Atlanta, the Ohio State senior won the Rimington Trophy, given to the best center in college football.

Elflein is the first Buckeye to win a national positional award since cornerback Malcolm Jenkins won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2008.

Elflein beat out Tyler Orlosky of West Virginia and Ethan Pocic of LSU to win the award.

“It’s incredible to be named the Rimington winner,” Elflein told The Dispatch. “It’s such a big honor. So many great players have won this award.
