A pair of basketball players headlines the eight-member 2016 Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame class announced today.
Evan Turner, the 2010 national player of the year, and Jantel Lavender, the first four-time Big Ten player of the year, will be inducted along with six other Buckeyes during the weekend of Sept. 9-10. Joining them in the class will be Justin Kronauge (men’s tennis), John Machado (baseball), Randall Larson (diving), Sam Marder (softball), Dan Taylor (men’s track and field) and Paul Zelenak (pistol).
It’s the second major honor for Turner in less than a year after his jersey was raised to the rafters at Value City Arena in mid-February.
