Bob Hunter commentary | Rumblings: Baylor turmoil could put QB prospect back in play

With Baylor firing football coach Art Briles on Thursday, attention in recruiting circles turned to quarterback Kellen Mond, who has been committed to the Bears. It’s no secret that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and his staff have pursued Mond for months.

That pursuit might still pay dividends as Mond, considered an elite dual-threat quarterback in the 2017 cycle, considers his options. From Texas, he is going to school at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

“I said a couple weeks ago that everybody was talking about Ohio State but that Auburn is a school that he also really likes,” Bucknuts recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic said.
