When Urban Meyer took over the coaching duties at Ohio State he mentioned early and often that they were lacking in depth on defense, especially at the linebacker and defensive back positions. He set out to change that situation, and boy did he.
Not only should Ohio State have one of the best linebacking units in the country, but they could have one of the best defensive backfields as well. And there are plenty of talented backups itching to get on the field also.
The linebackers will be led by senior Josh Perry, whose 124 tackles last season was the second-most in the conference and he was named to the second team all-Big Ten.
