Ohio State Football Recruiting Roundup For January 16th

We're less than three weeks away from National Signing Day, which means its time to survey the land in Columbus and bring you the biggest news tidbits about the Ohio State Buckeyes' recruiting efforts. Here's our Ohio State Football Recruiting Roundup For January 16th.

OSU Targets Versatile Two-Sports Star
3-star Columbus prep star Malik Harrison is visiting campus this weekend, and there's still no telling what Ohio State is looking for out of him after coming on strong with an offer in mid-December.

A two-sport star for nearby Walnut Ridge, Harrison currently averages double digits for the school's basketball team. He also had a fantastic year in helping the school's football team to a 7-4 record, rushing for 15 touchdowns, passing for nine, catching one and taking one back on a punt return.

With visits to Wisconsin and Indiana in the bag, and Michigan State/Syracuse upcoming, it behooves the Buckeyes to seal things up with a fantastic showing this weekend. If so, they'll just have to figure out where they're going to slot him in on offense/special teams.

Big Flip Coming?
Outside linebacker Keandre Jones is the gem of the Maryland Terrapins' current recruiting class, ranking as the 9th-best OLB in the Class of 2016. However, the Terps now have reason to sweat as Jones is making a spur-of-the-moment official visit to Columbus this weekend.

Per Ahmad Ghafir of 247Sports:

"IMS confirmed with four-star Keandre Jones that he is set to leave for his Ohio State official visit tonight. After the Buckeyes were at Good Counsel on Thursday morning, the four-star was questioning whether he'd take an official. The visit was scheduled and finalized last night, and the Buckeyes will attempt to lure the local star to Columbus. Jones previously told IMS that he was thinking of taking an official visit to Ohio State, but that nothing was set."

Jones says he's still "100% committed" to the in-state Terps and "just wanted to make sure he made the right decision." However, this is an opportunity for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes to add a bonus BIG prospect to the 2016 ledger.
