WATCH: This Throwback To Ohio State's Last National Championship Will Get You FIRED UP For Their Next One

The year? 2003. The place? Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ. The scene? The Fiesta Bowl, where Jim Tressel's undefeated #2 Buckeyes were taking on Larry Coker's undefeated #1 Miami Hurricanes.

This year's Buckeyes are underdogs, expected to lose to Oregon by more than a touchdown. Tressel's Buckeyes were supposed to lose by a lot more than that, going in 11 & 1/2 point dogs to the Hurricanes, who bulldozed their way through the regular season with no less than 11 future NFL starters in their lineup.

If the Buckeyes want inspiration for Monday's game against Oregon, they should look no further than their last national championship squad. They've been back to the championship game twice since 2003...but both times as favorites. It might be that the underdog role just suits Ohio State better...it certainly did against Alabama.
