ESPN's Colin Cowherd Thinks Ohio State Should Be In the College Football Playoff Over Florida State

The Ohio State Buckeyes put themselves back into the conversation for the College Football Playoff with their impressive win over Michigan State on Saturday, but many expect them to be left out of the top four in favor of one-loss SEC or Big 12 teams.

However, ESPN's Colin Cowherd thinks the Buckeyes should make it over the undefeated and defending national champion Florida State Seminoles.

"I have Ohio State as the three-seed, and I have Florida State seventh," Cowherd said. "I think that their win over Michigan State this weekend was as impressive as anything anyone has done. In the loss to Virginia Tech, they had a freshman quarterback - a baby basically - in his first big test."

He explained he reasoning was partially because of how good Ohio State looked, and partially because he doesn't think the Seminoles are that good.

"I just don't buy into Florida State. They've trailed at half in four games, they're only a two and a half point favorite against Miami, Vegas doesn't buy them either. I don't see them as  a top-4 team right now."

Florida State is 9-0 on the season and were No. 2 in the College Football Playoff Committee Poll last week, while Ohio State is 8-1 and was ranked No. 16. The new poll comes out Tuesday night at 7:30 ET.

The top four teams in the poll make the College Football Playoff and have a chance to play for the national championship.
