The Cincinnati Bearcats aren't just facing the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday. They're facing over a century of history that says they can't hang with the state's big dog.

"We haven't beaten them in how long?" Cincinnati head coach Tommy Tuberville asked his assistants during a staff meeting on Sunday, via ESPN.com.

The answer they provided is a daunting one for UC - the Cincinnati Bearcats haven't beaten the Ohio State Buckeyes since 1897.

"That's a long time," Tuberville quipped.

With the Cincinnati Bearcats heading into this game 2-0 with dreams of making the inaugural College Football Playoff in their heads, they are well aware of what turning history on its head would do for their program.

However, the Ohio State Buckeyes still have grand visions of their own. With that being said, Urban Meyer and the crew would be happy to set off another 100-year streak of victories over their in-state rivals with a win on Saturday.
