Former Bobcat/current injured NFL player returns to visit his former teammates at OU

Former Ohio Bobcat cornerback Ian Wells returned to Athens on Monday for the first time since being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Lions in May. He visited football practice to catch up with former teammates and coaches.

Wells, a three-year starter for Ohio from 2013-2015, was placed on season-ending IR (Injured Reserve) by the Lions after he tore his ACL and MCL only a couple weeks into training camp. Getting adjusted to the speed of the NFL game was a challenge for Wells, he said, during the brief time he was healthy on the field.
