Bobcat men move into 2nd place in MAC with win over Miami

Freshman Jason Carter scored a career-high 25 points as the Ohio men’s basketball team defeated the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks 79-62 in Tuesday night’s Battle of the Bricks matchup in Oxford. The win gives Ohio sole possession of second place in the Mid-American Conference standings after Buffalo lost to Kent State Tuesday night.

Other than one minute of play early in the first half with Miami ahead 18-17, the Bobcats commanded the lead for the entire game. Ohio (18-8, 10-5 Mid-American) is now riding a four-game win streak with three games remaining before the MAC Tournament.

For a moment it looked to be a close game when Miami cut their deficit to 44-41 with 12:22 left in the second half after rattling off three straight shots from behind the arc.
