CHICAGO — So much for the “Raiders: Team of Destiny” angle.
Let’s not overreact. The Raiders aren’t out of the Super Bowl picture yet. But their stock and their spirits took a considerable fall Sunday in a 22-20 loss to the ailing (until Sunday) Bears.
If the Raiders needed walk-off music Sunday, it would have been famed Chicago bluesman Buddy Guy’s signature, “Damn Right I Got The Blues.”
In a game that would have boosted the Raiders into the hot-buzz category wherever NFL fans gather to buzz, Oakland just didn’t have it.
The Raiders’ rep as a surprise team on the rise took a hit.
