Raiders cut former starter Ray-Ray Armstrong

The Oakland Raiders cut linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong, who began the season as a starter, on Tuesday.

Armstrong lost his starting job after the first two games. He didn’t play any defensive snaps in a loss at Detroit on Sunday and registered just one tackle in each of Oakland’s past four games.

Armstrong was cleared in Pennsylvania last week after being investigated for the taunting of a police dog, a third-degree felony, on the field prior to the Raiders’ game at Pittsburgh on Nov. 8. Authorities concluded that Armstrong did not act maliciously when he barked at the dog during warm-ups.
