The son of Denver Broncos legend Ed McCaffrey, it would be assumed that Duke standout Max McCaffrey would gladly accept an offer from his dad’s former team as an undrafted free agent. Something that the Broncos offered on Saturday, but McCaffrey shockingly declined to accept. Opting to join the Silver and Black in a shock move that will provide some fun training camp storylines this summer.
McCaffrey, who is in the shadow of his famous brother as well as his dad, had a solid career at Duke as a consistent wideout in the Blue Devils spread offense. Making plenty of plays that will make him an intriguing name to watch at camp even if his odds of unseating Seth Roberts for the team’s slot receiver role are low.
