The Latest On DJ Hayden's Groin Injury In Your Raiders News Update

Oakland Raiders cornerback D.J. Hayden slammed his helmet to the turf in frustration after overextending himself and pulling up lame during Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos.

Hayden has been here before, with injuries causing him to miss 15 of the Raiders' 25 regular-season games since they picked him 12th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. The young defensive back was forced to miss the rest of the game with a groin strain, but thankfully, the injury doesn't appear to be serious.

“It’s a little tweak,” Hayden said, via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com. “I’m good. I’ll discuss it more with the training staff. We’ll see how it goes as the week rolls on.”

Hayden's injury was a bad ending to the game that started quite well. He picked off Peyton Manning on Denver's opening drive, while providing solid coverage for the rest of his time on the field. However, he was also beat on a Peyton Manning TD pass - symbolic of the fact that the young man is still a work in progress.

That work can only happen, though, if he can stay on the field and shirk the injury bug.
