Raiders Owner Mark Davis "Expressing Displeasure" Over Head Coach Dennis Allen

In this Raiders news and rumors update, the Oakland Raiders could be on their way to a head coaching change if their struggles to start the 2014 NFL season persist.

Per Michael David Smith of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "Raiders owner Mark Davis is already privately expressing his displeasure, according to CSNBayArea.com, to the point where Allen’s tenure as Raiders coach may come to an end this season. According to the report, the Raiders already have a plan to promote offensive line coach Tony Sparano to head coach if Allen gets fired during the season. Sparano spent four seasons as head coach of the Dolphins and is a more experienced coach than Allen."

Allen is quite aware that improvement is needed...and quickly.

“We need change,” Allen said after Sunday’s 30-14 home loss to the Houston Texans.“We need to do better, because we’re a better football team than what we put out on the field today.”

At this juncture, Allen may be running out of time to prove that he's the man to institute that "change."
