A’s lineup getting back to a more familiar look

OAKLAND – The A’s will look a lot more like themselves Tuesday night as they welcome first baseman Yonder Alonso and catcher Stephen Vogt back into the lineup.

Alonso hasn’t played since Wednesday, when he sprained his left knee during an at-bat against the Mariners in Seattle.

That earned him a couple of days off and the fact that the Red Sox threw left-handers in the final three games of the series allowed manager Bob Melvin to give the man who was his home run leader a couple of extra days off before Monday’s scheduled off-day.

Khris Davis hit a couple of homers in the series to recapture the team lead with 13

Vogt, generally the starter whenever he’s healthy, found himself on the bench Friday, Saturday and Sunday thanks to the aforementioned left-handers.
