Andrew Lambo re-signs with A’s on minor-league deal

Andrew Lambo, who missed most of the season at Triple-A Nashville after surgery for testicular cancer, signed a minor-league deal with Oakland and will be in big-league camp.

Lambo, 28, was on Oakland’s Opening Day roster but played only one game with the A’s. He has appeared in 60 big-league games, the rest all with the Pirates.

Given the A’s needs in the outfield, Lambo has a chance to win another Opening Day roster spot. a career .278 hitter in the minors, Lambo hit 32 homers and drove in 99 runs in 120 minor-league games in 2013 but he has had several health issues since, including a thumb injury in 2014 and a foot injury in 2015 that cost him most of the season.
