The Irish scored a pretty big signing in February when they lured five-star defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes away from the likes of USC and UCLA.
That came after Vanderdoes verbally committed to USC, then reopened his recruitment and signed a Letter of Intent with Notre Dame. But then Vanderdoes started getting nervous about being so far from home (understandable). Today, he announced he will enroll at UCLA in the fall.
Notre Dame declined to release Vanderdoes from his letter of intent, meaning officially-speaking he is transferring and will have to sit out a year.
