The Fighting Irish Lacrosse team held the top position in the polls for most of the year. However, Notre Dame is heading home without a title, again.
Last year, Notre Dame Lacrosse dropped the National Championship to Duke, 11-9. Today, the Irish dropped an overtime decision to Denver, 11-10.
Denver’s Welsey Berg snapped a game-winner with 2:03 left in the first overtime. Tyler Pace was credited with the assist. The Irish trailed 10-6 in the fourth period. Sergio Perkovic single handedly pushed the score to 10-9. In dramatic fashion, Senior Nick Ossello scored the equalizer with 9 seconds remaining in regulation.
