Alex Flanagan Dropped As NBC Sideline Reporter For Notre Dame Football, Sunday Night Football

Alex Flanagan, a sideline reporter for NBC's national coverage of Notre Dame football since 2007, has been removed from her position, sources told Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead.

Flanagan, who was also a sideline reporter for NBC's pregame coverage of Sunday Night Football, has been dropped from that role as well.

“We are fine-tuning our Notre Dame coverage and will reveal our new plans closer to the start of the season," NBC Sports spokesman Chris McCloskey stated to the Big Lead. "Alex will not be with us in South Bend, but she remains in the NBC family.”

There have no indications as to who will replace Flanagan for NBC's coverage of Notre Dame games, but sources close to the Big Lead have named three possible replacements: "Julie Donaldson (Comcast Mid-Atlantic), Liam McHugh (does a little bit of everything for the network) and Carolyn Manno (NBCSN’s SportsDash and Football Night in America)."

Those same sources say that Josh Elliott will take Flanagan's place on the NFL pregame show. Elliott was hired by the company in March and will be a features reporter for the broadcasts.

Flanagan, who is still an employee of NFL Network, has not commented as of yet.
