4 Things You Need To Know About Notre Dame Football Recruiting With 16 Days Before Signing Day

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in the process of putting together yet another strong recruiting class under Brian Kelly. The Fighting Irish already have several players committed, but they aren't done yet. They're making a strong push during the last month of recruiting as we heads towards National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Here's all the latest news and rumors you need to know for Notre Dame football recruiting.

Five-Star LB Loved Notre Dame Visit
The Fighting Irish hosted five-star LB Ben Davis this weekend and he loved his visit to South Bend. Davis spoke with 247Sports about his visit.

"The one moment that stuck out to me was just seeing how much Notre Dame coaches and the Notre Dame family really care about players," Davis told 247Sports. "Notre Dame is definitely one of my tops now. If I had to grade them, it would be a perfect 10."

Davis is the No. 1 MLB in the nation and the No. 11 overall recruit. However, Alabama is expected to land Davis, in large part because his father went to Alabama.

Notre Dame The Favorite For No. 1 WR?
Demetrius Robinson is the No. 1 WR in the nation and the No. 16 overall player. The Fighting Irish are fighting Alabama and Georgia for Robinson. The Bulldogs have been the favorite lately, but another of 247Sports' insiders believes Robinson will play for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame Offers 2017 RB
The 2016 class isn't wrapped up yet, but like any good program, Notre Dame is working on the 2017 class as well. The Fighting Irish offered four-star RB A.J. Dillon over the weekend. His grandfather, Tom Gatewood, played wide receiver for Notre Dame and was just inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Where Notre Dame's Class Sits
Notre Dame has 22 committed recruits and are 22nd in Rivals.com's rankings. Only Michigan, Ole Miss, Ohio State and LSU are above the Fighting Irish. The gem of the class remains five-star LB Daelin Hayes. The Irish would need to land a few more top-flight players, but finishing with the No. 1 overall class is a possibility.
